RBI Club members and guests, including additional Mariners Season Ticket Holders, filled Ellis Pavilion at Safeco Field last Friday, April 22. In an unprecedented auction to raise money for the Japanese Red Cross, the RBI Club partnered with Rick Rizzs’ Toys for Kids to raise more than $21,300. Mariners Care generously matched this gift doubling the auction’s generous contributions.

Luncheon attendees heard from Mariners’ General Manager, Jack Zduriencik. The majority of the time was devoted to an open question and answer period. Zduriencik fielded questions from, “What’s the best and worst part of your job?” to “What are we going to do about the bullpen?” and “As loyal fans, how long can we expect to watch the Mariners continue to perform at this level?”

Zduriencik said, “We’re committed to building something here. Anything you do in life you have to have a foundation. The tough thing is, it takes time.” How much time, Zduriencik did not specify, but he was confident in the Mariners future.

The RBI Club also hosted a Cystic Fibrosis Raffle Table. The raffle is for the Cystic Fibrosis Golf Tournament Fundraiser with the winner and a guest playing in the Mariners Golf Tournament, as well as attending an exclusive dinner and auction after the game with past and present Mariner players and executive management. Tickets will be available at the May luncheon and the drawing will soon follow.
