Tom Wilhelmsen to speak at the 2013 July RBI Club lunch

Join RBI Club members and guests, June 21 to hear tales from Mariners Pitcher Tom Wilhelmsen.

About Tom
Tom Wilhelmsen, fondly known as The Bartender, was drafted in the seventh round of the 2002 MLB Draft. But a series of events lead him to take a five-year hiatus from professional baseball.

While taking some time for himself off the mound, Tom worked as a bartender in his hometown. In 2009, he left his drink-pouring gig and signed a minor league contract with the Mariners. During the 2010 season, Tom played for the AZL Mariners, Everett AquaSox and Clinton LumberKings.

Called to the big leagues on August 2, 2011, Wilhelmsen won his first major league game just 13 days later.

Last season, he earned a save in the Mariners six-pitcher combined no-hitter. He continues to provide closing relief for the Mariners and throws a fastball that typically hits between 95 – 98 mph and a wicked 12-6 curveball.
