RBI Club Charitable Impact
The RBI Club, working in conjunction with Toys for Kids, Red Cross, Mariner Wives, Mariners Care, Cystic Fibrosis and other local charities has raised over $1,000,000 in the last 12 years.
Our fundraising has supported a multitude of organizations including Toys For Kids, Japanese Earthquake and Sunami Relief, Mariners Care, Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, Medic One, and First Place schools.
Toys For Kids
Rick Rizzs and Dave Henderson’s Toys For Kids is our primary charitable focus. Started 16 years ago, it provides holiday toys and cash contributions to families in need in the Greater Seattle area. Originally funded by passing the hat among local ballplayers, the charity’s fundraising has grown into a large dinner and auction held once a year at the Bellevue Harbor Club.
The RBI Club connected with Rick and Dave to offer our support in 2000. At that time we began helping with the planning, promoting, and item acquisition for the auction. In 2001, we introduced the Al “Moose” Clausen Community Service Award presented at the dinner and auction. The award is given to a past or present member of the Mariners organization who has made significant contributions to the community.

Who is Al “Moose” Clausen
Al “Moose” Clausen is a born and raised Seattleite and baseball fanatic. At Ballard High School, his baseball coaches nicknamed him “Moose.” He is still fondly called “Moose” today.
In 1982, he joined the Mariners staff as the Director of Sales. Due to his decades of service with Northwest baseball and the community, the RBI Club and Seattle Mariners named the Seattle Mariners RBI Club Community Service Award, the Al “Moose” Clausen Community Service Award.
